The Victims Services Support Program through the Iowa Attorney General's Office conducted a Grant or Funding Application Workshops/Webinar for Criminal Justice Programs on for August 14, 2015. The funding is for a 3-year cycle and the funding contract will begin on 7/1/2016. We are conducting these applications earlier then scheduled compared to past years. All applications will be submitted in IowaGrants.Gov and are due September 18, 2015. Please note it is a very streamlined application and I have attached the instructions including the narrative questions in IowaGrants.gov.

Attached please find the application schedule.
Workshops/Webinars:
There are 2 workshops specific to (1) Law Enforcement Applications and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Programs, and (2) Accessing & Managing IowaGrants.gov. Who Should Apply:
This application is for criminal justice programs focused on responding to victims of crime or violence against women victims. Returning application and Criminal Justice Agencies currently not funded under these grants and would like to be funded for any of the following are encouraged to apply as well:
- Law enforcement agencies wanting to improve their response and investigations on violence against women cases (domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking) can request funds for a special investigator, overtime for follow-up investigations, equipment to enhance response and follow-up investigations and training for improving response and investigation. Police academies wanting to have an instructor focus on violence against women is also allowable with this funding. This would include sexual assault nurse examiners projects.
New Initiative Grants Coming Soon: We will be opening a new initiative grant application in November 2015 as well. This new initiative grant through Victims of Crime Act (VOCA or VA) funding and is focused on assisting violent crime victims. These funds could allow you to have a victim advocate in your agency focused on all violent crime victims. We will send out more information at a later date!
