Larry William Frey, 64, of Greensboro, formerly of Davenport, passed away peacefully surrounded by his immediate family Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at Beacon Place in Greensboro, after a very long battle with cancer.
Larry William Frey, 64, of Greensboro, formerly of Davenport, passed away peacefully surrounded by his immediate family Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at Beacon Place in Greensboro, after a very long battle with cancer. There will be no services as to his wishes.
Larry was born Feb. 23, 1950, in Davenport to Paul and Margaret Frey.
Larry was a Davenport Police officer from 1971 until retiring as a sergeant in 1988. He then moved to North Carolina and continued in public safety.
He married Debbie Metzger in 1994.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Debbie; son Sean Hein; daughter Kristi (Dennis) Black, Wake Forest, N.C., Kelly Frey Lancer, Chicago, Chad Metzger and Carin Metzger, both of Greensboro; siblings Linda (Steve) Doellinger, Davenport, twin brother Gary (Barbara) Frey of Sandy Hook, Conn.; five nieces and nephews; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father. May they all rest in peace.
