Robert Jackson Greenlee III

Sgt. Robert Jackson Greenlee III, 45, of Waterloo died at his home on Sunday, April 15, 2018.
He was born September 3, 1972 in Waterloo, son of Robert J. Jr. and Sharane Kelm Greenlee and graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1990.
Bob married Melanie Dawn McIntyre on June 18, 1994 at the United Church of Christ in Cedar Falls.
He studied Criminology at UNI and graduated in 1994 from the Police Academy in Des Moines.
Bob became a police officer in 1994 for the City of Waterloo; he was promoted to Sergeant in August 2005. He taught courses for the police science program at Hawkeye Community College and for the Waterloo Police Reserves as well as instruction in Pursuit Driving to the police department.
He attended Heartland Vineyard Church in Waterloo and was instrumental in organizing the 4th Street Cruise and the University Ave. Cruise. He also coached baseball for Waterloo East High School. Bob enjoyed riding his motorcycle, coaching and teaching, Cubs baseball, and being with family.
Bob is survived by his wife, Melanie; sons, Robert J. Greenlee IV and Jerran Greenlee, all of Waterloo; and his parents, Robert J. Jr. and Sharane Greenlee of Shell Rock.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert J. Sr. and Gladys Greenlee and maternal grandparents, Howard and Winifred Kelm.
