October 18, 1941 - April 10, 2018

Arthur "Art" Laufenberg, 76, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at Mercy Living Center – South on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. A Funeral Mass will occur at 10:30 am on Monday, April 16, at Jesus Christ Prince of Peace Catholic Church, cremation rites will be accorded following the Funeral Mass. A visitation takes place from 1 pm to 5 pm on Sunday, April 15, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). An additional visitation will occur 1 hour prior to the Funeral Mass at the church. Burial takes place at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Art was born October 18, 1941 in Tomah, Wisconsin, the son of Bernard and Theresa (Weiner) Laufenberg. He was a graduate of Tomah High School. Following high school, he served his Country in the U.S. Army.

Art was united in marriage to Diana Maedge on March 8, 1969 in Morrison, Illinois – together in marriage 49 years.

Art retired from the Clinton Police Department after 30 years, his last role as a Detective Sergeant. He then formerly ended his career with the Clinton County Sheriff's Department after 10 additional years.

He was a member of Jesus Christ Prince of Peace Catholic Parish, AMVETS Post 28 and the Iowa State Police Association, local 14.

Art loved the Green Bay Packers! He enjoyed socializing with friends and family – he was affectionately known as "Uncle Art". Above all, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Art is survived by his wife - Diana of Clinton, IA; two daughters – Kimberly (Kevin) Milder of Lena, IL and Katherine (Jon) Jones of East Moline, IL; one son – Alan Laufenberg of Clinton, IA; dear family friend - Tom (Stacy) Bohle of Clinton, IA; his grandchildren – Noah, Mackenzie, Allyson and Gabriel; two sisters – Doris Martin of Poplar Bluff, MO and Betty Forbish of Clinton, IA; with many nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister and 3 brothers.
