Gary Williams 
February 11, 1939 - June 8, 2022

Gary Williams, age 83, passed away June 8, 2022. He was born on February 11, 1939 in Council Bluffs, IA to Walter "Bud" and Hazel (Stewart) Williams. He attended Thomas Jefferson High school and went on to attend Iowa Western Community College as well at University of Nebraska-Omaha to obtain his bachelors degree in criminal justice. He proudly served in the National Guard as well as 30 years on the Council Bluffs Police Department and retired as the Assistant Police Chief. Gary was an active member at Southside Christian Church for 75 years.

In addition to his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his son, Don "Donny" Williams; brothers, Russ, James; and sister, Dona.
 

Gary is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barb (Castle); daughters, Sharon Canterberry, Annette (Mike) Johnson; brother, Larry (Diane) Williams; sister, Ann Williams; 5 grandchildren, Matt Johnson, Bryan Johnson, Amy (Jerry) Tallman, Jordan (Jake) Reid, and Kaylan Canterberry; 4 great grandchildren, Amanda, Nicole, Jimmy, and Easton; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Saturday, June 11, 2022. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service, also at the funeral home. Interment at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
