Forrest Eldon Reese

February 13, 1945 to April 19, 2022

Des Moines - Forrest Eldon Reese was born in Indianola, Iowa on February 13, 1945 to Forrest and Helen (Edgington) Reese. He passed away on April 19, 2022 at MercyOne in Des Moines, Iowa.

Forrest graduated from Indianola High School and Des Moines Area Community College. He joined the Des Moines Police Department in 1967 and retired as a Detective in 2000.

Forrest is survived by his sons, Darin (Rene) Reese and Brian (Devon) Reese; granddaughters, Jordan and Jamie; grandson, Brady; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Hison, Edward and Hope Reese; brother, Bill (Dee Benge) Reese; sister, Virginia Ripperger; sister-in-law, Janis Reese; and special friend, Maymie Stout.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kevin Reese; brother, Tom Reese; nephew, Rick Reese; and brother-in-law, Merle Kimzey.

The family will greet friends Tuesday, April 26, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Hamilton's on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway. Forrest will be laid to rest at Resthaven Cemetery.
