Phillip C. Yerington

Phillip C. Yerington, 70, of Bettendorf passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2023 in Bettendorf. Phil was born on November 6, 1952. He graduated from Davenport Central High School and earned his Criminal Justice degree from St. Ambrose College. Phil joined the Davenport Police Department in 1974, serving his community for 38 years, ascending to the rank of Lieutenant. He also served two consecutive terms as the Mayor of Davenport. Phil was known for his sense of humor and honest opinions. He loved the New York Yankees, coffee with his children, his police buddies, and his girl, SadieCat. He will be most remembered for his love for his children, his faith, and his service to his community.

He is survived by his children, Brandi (Joel) Donnelly and Kyle (Jenny) Yerington; grandson, Callen; best friend, Dianne Schuerch, and brother, Paul (Lisa) Yerington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Donna Yerington, and his sister, Pamela Yerington.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Weerts Funeral Home, 3625 Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2023 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.
