ROBERT "BOB" WRIGHT

October 7, 1940 - September 26, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Robert "Bob" Wright.

Lieutenant Robert C. Wright (Retired) passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. A private viewing to be held at the Runge Mortuary in Davenport followed by graveside services at the Rock Island Arsenal.

Robert was born in Green Bay, WI, in 1940, to Robert and Florence Wright and was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan. From 1958 to 1962, he proudly served his country in the Armed Forces as a sailor in the United States Navy. He spent much of his time with the Navy aboard the USS Ranger. His Tours of Duty included Hawaii and Japan. After serving in the Armed Forces for four years, Robert joined the Davenport Police Department where he spent the next 35 years serving his community until his retirement in 2000.

Fishing, camping, and the occasional road trips to Wisconsin were just a few of his favorite things to do.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Florence.

He is survived by long-time companion, Patricia Miller; two daughters: Cynthia Hurtado; and husband, Al, and Sandra Wright-Mansil and husband, Michael; mother of his children, Donna Wright; grandchildren: Alexa (Wright) Stevens, Dylan Evan Mansil, Matthew Mansil, and Ashlyn Mansil; along with his beloved dog, Heidi.
