Raymond C. Rexroat

December 19, 1946 - October 6, 2023

Lieutenant Ray Rexroat, age 76, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023. He was born the son of Olive and Harold Rexroat, Sr., on December 19, 1946, in Sioux City, Iowa.

Ray was very proud of his military service. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Ray was Lieutenant with the Des Moines Police Department for 41 years, where he faithfully dedicated his life to the safety and wellness of his community. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, traveling, repairing guns, and was on the Des Moines Police Pistol Team.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Linda Rexroat, brother Rick (Connie) Rexroat, and niece Breanna Rexroat.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Wayne Rexroat, Jr.

Memorial visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Private burial will be held at a later date at Lincoln Cemetery in Alleman.
