Bobby Lee Geisinger, 66, of Lawton, IA, passed away surrounded by his family on December 13, 2024.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bobby Geisinger, a devoted father, grandfather, and longtime public servant, who passed away on December 13, 2024, at the age of 66. He leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and dedication that will continue to resonate with his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Bobby was born to Rachel and Robert Geisinger and was blessed to have eight siblings with whom he shared countless childhood memories. He was preceded in death by his parents, two of his sisters, Cindy Geisinger and Mona (Butch) Schulte, and his brother, Chad Smith. He is survived by his siblings Rosa (Bobby) Young, LuAnne (Steve) Shelley, Rita (Roger) Koontz, August (Rita) Geisinger, and Kaye (Gerrid) Otto and their families, who remained a constant source of support and love in his life until his very last breath.

For 21 years, Bobby “2-Gun” Geisinger served as a police officer with the Sioux City Police Department. His career was a reflection of his character: dedicated, honorable, and committed to serving his community. Though his work often required courage and resilience, it was in his quiet moments that his true nature shone through. He was a man who found great joy in simple pleasures, from the beauty of the outdoors to the warmth of a campfire, using his hands to build and create, and the quiet contemplation of life’s curiosities.

Above all, Bobby was a beloved father to his three children—Serena (Alex) Whitesell, Tonya (Tim) Grover, and Lucas Geisinger. He was a loving and thoughtful father who took great pride in guiding his children toward their full potential. His lessons were not just practical, but philosophical as well, as he often engaged in deep discussions about life and the universe. His influence was profound and lasting, and his children carry forward his strength, sense of purpose, and generosity of spirit.

In addition to being a dedicated father, Bobby was also a doting grandfather to five grandchildren: Bailey, Scout, and Bear Grover, and Calvin and Mary Whitesell. He adored each of them and found immense joy in making them laugh, playing and talking with them, and simply being present in their lives.

Bobby is survived by his three children, his five grandchildren, five of his siblings, and countless friends who will remember him for his mentorship, integrity, and quiet wisdom. He leaves behind a family who will continue to carry his love and teachings in their hearts. He was a man who, through his life and his love, shaped those around him in ways that will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Contact Front, in his honor.

May Bobby rest in peace, his legacy of love and commitment to service living on in the hearts of all who knew him.
